Safety center
Safe renting starts with safety. Here is how NOKNOK keeps listings real, how you can avoid scams, and how to report problems.
How we keep listings real
Fake listings, phishing and duplicate posts are intercepted from the moment a listing goes up.
- Every listing passes a multi-agent AI review (documents, imagery, content, pricing, risk); high-risk is blocked, grey-zone goes to humans.
- The same unit posted twice is flagged by the de-duplication engine to stop listing spam.
- Landlords can verify ownership for a badge; listings not re-confirmed within 3 days are auto-unlisted.
How to avoid scams
One rule: the platform never touches your money, so be wary of anyone asking you to pay off-platform.
- Never wire money privately off-platform; deposits and rent always go through a payment partner or directly to the landlord.
- If someone pushes you to move off-platform, rush a deposit, or offers a price far below market, pause and verify.
- Keep real talks and signing on-platform: contracts and handover photos are fixed with a SHA-256 hash and cannot be altered later.
How to report a problem
See a suspicious listing or message? Report it in one tap and we will act.
- Both listings and chat messages can be reported in one tap; you can also block someone to stop their messages.
- Reports go to a back-office queue; serious cases auto-lock the account and offending listings can be unlisted in one click.
- Payment or deposit disputes go to the arbitration desk; funds sit in third-party escrow and the platform favours neither side.
Protect your account
Verification and data minimisation are the baseline of account safety.
- Phone and identity verification raise trust; one verified phone can bind to only one account.
- ID images are kept in private storage and shown to reviewers only via short-lived signed links.
- Logs never output personal data; you can download or permanently delete your data anytime.
